**Job Overview**

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to lead our team in a busy clinical area at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 3, you will be responsible for mentoring new staff, ensuring the smooth running of clinics, and providing high-quality ophthalmic services.

**About Us**

Guy's and St Thomas' is a major London hospital and tertiary referral center with a large ophthalmology department. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a teaching hospital environment, leading a team and working on cutting-edge equipment.

**Key Responsibilities**

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading a small team and managing a clinical area
  • Mentoring new staff and ensuring they meet the required standards
  • Testing vision, intra-ocular pressure, and visual fields using advanced equipment
  • Scanning corneas, OCT, and other imaging devices

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience in ophthalmology clinics or a related field
  • GCSE in Maths and English, NVQ level 2 or equivalent

**What We Offer**

We offer a competitive salary of £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
