European Gas Analyst Job Description

Energy Aspects is seeking a skilled European Gas Analyst to join our research team in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data models, gathering information from market contacts, and providing forward-looking views on the European gas market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Model Development: Run and improve our proprietary supply-demand models to provide accurate market insights.
  • Information Sourcing: Gather relevant data from market contacts, subscriptions, and public sources to inform our models.
  • Market Analysis: Contribute to our team's market views by analyzing data and providing written reports and oral presentations.
  • Communication: Present our views to clients and prospects, and continuously expand our network of contacts to exchange market information.
Requirements:
  • Quantitative Analysis: A strong track record of quantitative and qualitative analysis, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Energy Market Knowledge: A keen interest in energy markets, with a good understanding of the European gas market.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to clients and prospects.
Desirable Skills:
  • Econometric Modelling: Experience with econometric and statistical modelling, including Python, R, and Eviews.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in some European languages, with a strong understanding of the cultural and economic context of the European gas market.
