About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team at WHSmith. As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth in our stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card payments, and other payment methods.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, staying up-to-date on new releases and promotions.
  • Contribute to visual merchandising and store displays, ensuring a visually appealing and engaging store environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a sales or customer-facing role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy when handling cash and credit card transactions.
