About the Role:

We are seeking a Lead Instrumentation Designer to join our team in Southampton, with hybrid working available. As a key member of our multidisciplinary Innovation, Design & Solutions department, you will be responsible for designing projects across various sectors, including water treatment, distribution, and wastewater recycling.

As an experienced engineer with a background in electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (EICA), you will interpret client requirements, coordinate site condition surveys, and drive a health and safety focus throughout the design process.

You will also be responsible for developing instrumentation design deliverables, communicating with internal teams and clients, and managing project-specific design interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop instrumentation systems for water treatment and distribution projects
  • Coordinate site condition surveys and drive a health and safety focus throughout the design process
  • Develop instrumentation design deliverables, including design sketches, drawings, and schedules
  • Communicate with internal teams, clients, and external consultants
  • Manage project-specific design interfaces and ensure compliance with relevant UK water industry standards and regulations
