We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Barnstaple. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide mechanical engineering input into the design and development of our products and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Produce sound technical solutions and ensure they are well defined, optimized, and understood.
- Provide input into engineering effort and duration estimates to ensure work packages are delivered to quality, time, and cost.
- Work to project milestones with a strong focus on customer requirements.
- Work with project managers to support the provision of accurate progress reports and to escalate emergent risks and issues.
- Understand the technical trade-offs involved in making priority and fit-for-purpose determinations.
- Previous mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience within Solidworks or similar 3D CAD package.
- Experience with part/configuration control package (e.g. Solidworks PDM, Windchill).
- Experience with Finite Element analysis design (FEA).
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently to both fixed and flexible deadlines.
- A passion for working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience in design for defence products would be beneficial.
