Job Overview

This role plays a key role in establishing and maintaining the highest industry health and safety standards for the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the H&S Manager in the management of H&S for SCS activities, including the implementation of the H&S Management System (HSMS).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Flexible working:
  • Understand SCS Health & Safety Policies and Processes and statutory requirements as they affect SCS operations and implement requirements.
  • Provide operational and functional management advice on implementing company's H&S policies and processes, including external stakeholders like customers if necessary.
  • Assist H&S Manager or delegate and Contract Management in understanding stakeholder aims, priorities, and risks regarding H&S.
  • Assist with developing Health and Safety Management plans if applicable and coordinating review.
  • Assist SHE Manager and other members of the HSS team in key tasks to develop, manage, implement, and monitor the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Undertake or assist H&S Manager and/or Contract Management in establishing, managing, and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders like local authorities, HSE, and others as required and directed.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and independence on assessing and appointing sub-contractors.
  • When directed, assist with preparing H&S risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Assist with monitoring, analyzing, and reporting H&S performance. Utilize data to highlight areas for consideration, evaluation, and intervention.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing H&S training/briefings as directed.
  • Understand Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements affecting company operations and ensure applicable requirements are implemented on the project.
