We are seeking a skilled Mobility Equipment Specialist to join our team in Kent. As a Rehabilitation Engineer, you will play a vital role in assessing the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs, and prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical and technical background, with experience in using analytical, engineering, and practical skills to solve problems for service users in relation to their mobility equipment. You will also be confident in the use of digital systems and software for record-keeping and analysis of service performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the mobility needs of adults and children with complex needs
  • Prescribing manual and powered wheelchairs with associated posture management and pressure management accessories
  • Supervising junior staff and providing clinical and technical guidance to other clinical and non-clinical colleagues
  • Working with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver contractual service performance of a high quality
  • Liaising with service user groups and other stakeholders to facilitate joint working and identify opportunities for improving service user outcomes
