Primary School Learning Support Specialist

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team at a Primary School in Knowsley. This long-term contract will require the successful candidate to support students across all year groups, with a focus on SEN students.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, as well as experience working with SEN students in a secondary school setting. Strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant strategies and interventions is also essential. Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive and flexible attitude, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and classroom support to SEN students
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum and developing their skills and confidence
- Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans and monitor progress
