Safeguarding Specialist

At Dovetail and Slate, we are seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students, particularly those facing challenges such as mental health or being care leavers.
The ideal candidate will have experience in safeguarding and welfare, with a strong understanding of the guidelines and regulations surrounding this area. They will be responsible for handling safeguarding and welfare enquiries via email and phone, ensuring they meet the required standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students to build confidence in accessing support services independently
Providing crisis intervention when necessary
Handling safeguarding and welfare enquiries via email and phone
Supporting high-needs students, such as ESOL learners, young parents, and vulnerable adults
Acting as Deputy DSL, responding to safeguarding referrals and child protection disclosures
Following up on safeguarding incidents according to legal requirements
