About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Alzheimer Scotland, Cromarty House, Sun Street, Stranraer. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing front-line support to individuals living with dementia, promoting their independence, and enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to individuals with dementia, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and lead therapeutic activities that cater to the preferences and needs of individuals, focusing on maintaining skills and independence.
  • Support individuals to engage in their interests and hobbies, access peer support, and maintain connections with their communities.
  • Contribute to activity development and participate in training, including SVQs, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a high-quality service that meets the needs of individuals.
Requirements
  • A positive approach to dementia and a caring attitude.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • A willingness to learn and participate in training, including SVQs.
  • Registration with the SSSC is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia are advantageous.
