Senior Ecologist Job Description

We are assisting our client, an international design firm, in finding their next Senior Ecologist. This role is a great opportunity for a skilled ecologist to join their team and contribute to their projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting ecological assessments, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and protected species surveys.
  • Collaborating with various disciplines in the design process to ensure ecological considerations are integrated.
  • Preparing technical reports for projects and managing sub-consultants.
  • Assisting in fee proposals, marketing materials, and ecological requirements within tenders.

Requirements:

  • Experience in BNG calculations and reporting.
  • Proficiency in QGIS.
  • Knowledge of UK environmental policy and legislation.
  • Level 1 Class License for bat (or other species).
  • Strong botanical identification skills.
  • Formal qualifications in Ecology.
  • Full membership of CIEEM.
