Job Description:

In this role as MEICA Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects in a safe and cost-effective manner. As a key member of the project team, you will work closely with the project manager to plan and execute project activities.

About the Role:

  • You will provide technical input to projects and ensure that works are carried out safely and meet specifications.
  • With a focus on achieving safety targets, you will actively engage the project construction team in the implementation of project delivery.
  • As part of the project team, you will contribute to customer satisfaction and ensure quality is consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting the project management team in delivering MEICA projects.
  2. Producing functional specifications, contractor selection, and ensuring all supporting scope is delivered on time.
  3. Working with appointed designers to undertake design reviews for compliance and identify value engineering opportunities.
  4. Providing data to the commercial manager/quantity surveyor regarding variation orders and site instructions.
  5. Managing suppliers of engineering services across all technical disciplines.
  6. Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
  7. Understanding project risks and coordinating mitigation activities.
  8. Conducting technical assurance checks and audits of contractor activities and outputs throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Assisting in resolving engineering issues arising during project delivery and ensuring quality control.
  10. Managing multiple engineering aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet technical and quality standards.
  11. Collaborating with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and contractors, to understand project requirements and objectives.
  12. Developing and overseeing project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and budget-friendly completion.
  13. Supporting the project team in preparing detailed MEICA and interface engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  14. Working with the project team by assigning tasks and providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  15. Coordinating with other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical and civil engineers, to ensure integrated and coordinated project designs.
  16. Participating in site visits and inspections to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure quality control.
  17. Troubleshooting with the project team to resolve MEICA-related issues that may arise during project execution.
  18. Ensuring projects adhere to codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  19. Managing project documentation, including technical reports, change orders, and project records.
  20. Staying up-to-date with advancements in electrical engineering technology and best practices.
  21. Preparing and delivering project progress reports and presentations to clients and project stakeholders.
