Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Placements Careers and Employability Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating employment opportunities for students and alumni by establishing and maintaining productive employer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain sustainable relationships with employers and different industry sectors to develop placement and professional development opportunities for students.
- Manage multiple student placements, ensuring all necessary paperwork is received from students and employers, and placements are set up correctly.
- Maintain accurate work placement and student records using the placement tracker and compile reports as needed.
- Develop online resources to support students undertaking work placement opportunities.
- Conduct one-to-one meetings with students to prepare them for placements and deliver pre-placement preparation workshops.
- Support the development of on-campus activities, presenting information, delivering workshops, and hosting events such as job fairs.
- Maintain regular contact with students and employers to monitor placement progress and resolve any issues.
- Prepare reports on placement activity and contribute to placement briefings, ensuring information is accurate and accessible.
- Drive and implement the Employability Framework and other activities relevant to the career and sector interests of students.
- Lead on the development and implementation of internal employability framework (CREATE).
- Support students in developing the necessary skills and confidence to progress with their career aspirations.
- Provide advice on CV development, covering letters, and interview preparation, conducting mock interviews and application reviews.
- Facilitate the full recruitment cycle, including advertising opportunities, shortlisting candidates, and providing feedback.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to provide tailored support to students and employers, working proactively to encourage take-up of placements and drive the employability agenda.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have prior experience working in a careers services, placement environment, or recruitment services role within further education, higher education, or apprenticeships. A level 3 IAG qualification is also desirable.
