We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Horley, Surrey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students aged 4-11.
About the RoleThis is a contract position offering a long-term opportunity with full-time hours. You will have the chance to explore your passion for education by assisting students in the classroom, contributing to their social, emotional, and academic growth.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with teachers to work with groups of children.
- Provide regular progress updates to the class teacher and maintain records.
- Attend to children's personal needs, including minor first aid, and offer guidance on pastoral, social health, physical hygiene, and welfare matters.
- Engage with teachers, caregivers, and parents to monitor student development.
- Support children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to facilitate their learning.
- Be a positive role model for students and staff.
- Experience working with children.
- Genuine passion for working with children.
- Grade C or above (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English.
- Enhanced child DBS (we can assist if you don't already have one).
- Classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Patience to support pupils in understanding lessons and engaging in activities planned by the teacher.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (Sponsorship not provided).
