Quantity Surveyor - Groundworks

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring our projects are costed accurately, executed on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tender Management: Identify and review tender opportunities, complete PQQs, and engage in pre-contract negotiations to promote commercial awareness.
  • Contract Setup: Accurately set up contracts, ensuring compliance with legal obligations, health and safety standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Performance Review: Monitor contractual performance, liaise with Directors and Contracts Managers regarding progress, quality, and dispute resolution.
  • Valuations and Variations: Prepare accurate monthly valuations and variations, submit financial claims, and secure prompt payments from clients.
  • Financial Management: Reconcile and allocate contractual payments, update rates for labour and materials, and amend contracts as necessary.
  • Commercial Maximization: Promote commercial awareness and maximize contract values while minimizing commercial exposure.
  • Client Liaison: Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in groundworks surveying (mandatory).
  • License: Valid driving license (mandatory).
Job Details:
  • Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: Negotiable depending on the candidate.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required.
  • Location: Office based in Wigan, with travel to construction sites across the North West.
