Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Linen Services Assistant. This role involves providing a weekend linen service to deliver linen to wards and departments at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan Lane, Wigan.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering linen to wards and departments on a weekend basis
  • Issuing staff uniforms and obtaining signatures for delivered uniform stock
  • Working with a flexible approach to provide assistance as required in the busy linen room
  • Operating the on-site laundry facilities for the washing and drying of baby items
  • Allocating and recording signatures from staff for collected uniform

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills with accurate attention to detail
  • Manual dexterity and coordination
  • Ability to lift weights up to 20 kgs
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with a range of people
  • Ability to organise and prioritise day-to-day tasks
