Job Title: Assistant Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Estimator to join our team at The CLR Group. As an Assistant Estimator, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head of Construction in managing and coordinating all aspects of tenders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing documentation and quotations at tender stage, including cost budgets and cost estimates for new contracts.
  • Collate and log bid specifications, and ensure that all necessary documents are downloaded and compiled.
  • Prepare and submit online tender submissions under the guidance of the Head of Construction.
  • Maintain a database of all projects that have been tendered for and create reports on this data.
  • Undertake basic quantity surveying using bespoke software and create pricing documents.
  • Accompany visits to potential project sites to assist with the pricing process.
  • Create physical project folders to be used as part of the handover process to the Contracts Managers when projects go live.
  • Contact suppliers and manufacturers for quotations and project support during the tender process.
  • Follow up bids once submitted.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Assist and support other members of the team as and when required in general office admin and duties.
Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in Building or Property Surveying, Project Managing, or similar.
  • Previous experience within the Construction industry, ideally with a record of estimating.
  • Demonstrable ability to understand technical drawings.
  • Experience working with Gantt charts and schedules of work.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Experience in all listed duties is not a necessity, and full training will be given to the right candidate.
Benefits:
  • Base Salary: per annum (based on experience).
  • Hours: 09:00 - 18:00, Monday to Friday.
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Location: SE1.
  • Holiday: 20 days pa in addition to Public Holidays. Additional days gifted for birthday and Christmas holidays (varied from year to year).
  • Pension: Company contribution.
