Assistant Estimator

The CLR Group is seeking a highly skilled and organized Assistant Estimator to join our team. As an Assistant Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Construction in managing and coordinating all aspects of tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of documentation and quotations at tender stage, including cost budgets and cost estimates for new contracts.
- Collaborate with the Head of Construction to ensure new works are appropriately acknowledged and assigned to the relevant personnel.
- Download and compile tender proposals, complete online tender submissions, and ensure bid specifications are collated and logged.
- Act as the first point of contact for new projects, downloading all documents and creating tender files.
- Prepare and maintain a database of all projects that have been tendered for and create reports on this data.
- Undertake basic quantity surveying using bespoke software and create pricing documents.
- Accompany visits to potential project sites to assist with the pricing process.
- Assist in creating physical project folders for the handover process to the Contracts Managers.
- Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers for quotations and project support during the tender process.
- Follow up on bids once submitted.
- Liaise with clients, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and project managers.
- Assist and support other members of the team as required in general office administration and duties.
Requirements:
- Graduate in Building or Property Surveying, Project Managing, or a similar field.
- Previous experience within the Construction industry, ideally with a record of estimating.
- Demonstrable ability to understand technical drawings.
- Experience working with Gantt charts and schedules of work.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent I.T skills.
- Enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and an interest in a career within the construction industry.
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary.
- Standard working hours: 09:00 - 18:00, Monday to Friday.
- Permanent contract.
- Location: SE1.
- 20 days of annual leave, plus public holidays and additional days for birthday and Christmas holidays.
