About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Board as Chair, leading our organization in achieving its vision of inspiring and creating opportunities for the people of Trafford to move more and live longer, healthier, happier lives.

The successful candidate will be an independent and strategic thinker, with a collaborative approach and excellent understanding of good governance, sound judgement, and the ability to navigate complex environments.

As Chair, you will be responsible for leading the Board, fostering relationships with Trafford Council and other key stakeholders, and working closely with our CEO and other members of the Exec team to ensure delivery of our vision, effectiveness, and good governance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Board and ensure effective governance
  • Foster relationships with Trafford Council and other key stakeholders
  • Work closely with the CEO and Exec team to deliver the organization's vision and strategy
  • Ensure good governance and compliance with relevant regulations
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Executive or Non-Executive experience in a similar or comparable sector or organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and governance skills
  • A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with stakeholders
