Contracts Manager

Job Summary

Leidos seeks a dedicated Contracts Manager to lead commercial and contractual interactions with key customers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial, contractual, and technical interpretation on contract terms and conditions.
  • Lead contractual interactions with the Customer.
  • Represent the Contracts team at customer meetings, presenting contractual issues and advising on resolutions.
  • Lead the commercial evaluation and preparation of contract change proposals.
  • Scrutinise and govern contract change proposals, provide high-quality contract drafting, and negotiate proposals through to signature.
  • Manage and draft customer communications in support of programme delivery.
  • Own the contract management and contract compliance activities for the programme.
  • Proactively manage customer disputes and complaints.
  • Provide timely commercial advice to project and delivery teams in support of programme management and delivery.
  • Review, scrutinize, and develop operational process flows.
  • Ensure the financial aspects and impact of the contract are clear to all parties.
  • Ensure that all stakeholders, such as administration, operations, and finance, understand and adhere to contractual obligations.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the customer commercial/contracts team.
  • Take an active role in the performance of the contract, proactively identifying risks, issues, and opportunities, and developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Ability to operate independently and communicate effectively, both internally and externally.
  • Good level of understanding of programme technical performance metrics and financial status.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Liaison with other Leidos operating units and corporate departments where applicable.

Skills Required

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a pressurised environment.
  • Provides commercial, contractual, and technical interpretation of the contract.
  • Strong comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial status.
  • Extensive experience of managing commercial and contractual elements of a contract change pipeline, including scope definition, pricing strategy, risk evaluation, and allocation.
  • Extensive experience of in-life contract management and contract compliance.
  • Strong negotiator.
  • Strong collaborator.
  • Commercially astute.
  • High attention to detail.
