Contracts Manager
Job Summary
Leidos seeks a dedicated Contracts Manager to lead commercial and contractual interactions with key customers.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide commercial, contractual, and technical interpretation on contract terms and conditions.
- Lead contractual interactions with the Customer.
- Represent the Contracts team at customer meetings, presenting contractual issues and advising on resolutions.
- Lead the commercial evaluation and preparation of contract change proposals.
- Scrutinise and govern contract change proposals, provide high-quality contract drafting, and negotiate proposals through to signature.
- Manage and draft customer communications in support of programme delivery.
- Own the contract management and contract compliance activities for the programme.
- Proactively manage customer disputes and complaints.
- Provide timely commercial advice to project and delivery teams in support of programme management and delivery.
- Review, scrutinize, and develop operational process flows.
- Ensure the financial aspects and impact of the contract are clear to all parties.
- Ensure that all stakeholders, such as administration, operations, and finance, understand and adhere to contractual obligations.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the customer commercial/contracts team.
- Take an active role in the performance of the contract, proactively identifying risks, issues, and opportunities, and developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Ability to operate independently and communicate effectively, both internally and externally.
- Good level of understanding of programme technical performance metrics and financial status.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Liaison with other Leidos operating units and corporate departments where applicable.
Skills Required
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a pressurised environment.
- Provides commercial, contractual, and technical interpretation of the contract.
- Strong comprehension of programme technical performance metrics and financial status.
- Extensive experience of managing commercial and contractual elements of a contract change pipeline, including scope definition, pricing strategy, risk evaluation, and allocation.
- Extensive experience of in-life contract management and contract compliance.
- Strong negotiator.
- Strong collaborator.
- Commercially astute.
- High attention to detail.
