Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist - CAMHS

As a Clinical Psychologist at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, you will work in a vibrant Inpatient Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions, and support to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough psychological assessments to identify mental health needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Working collaboratively with clinicians, psychiatrists, social workers, family therapists, art psychotherapists, and nurses to provide comprehensive care.
  • Delivering evidence-based psychological therapies, including DBT and systemic approaches, to promote positive change and improve mental health outcomes.
  • Providing expert consultation, support, and advice to professionals within and external to the unit, including liaison with professional networks on complex issues such as child protection, self-harm, violence, and trauma.
  • Leading therapy groups and promoting understanding of group dynamics using a psychological perspective.
  • Organizing and leading psychology teaching and training in the Unit, aligning with service and training needs.
  • Providing professional and clinical supervision, as well as training placements to psychology trainees, ensuring adherence to professional ethics and Trust policies.
