Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Opportunity

Flux Consulting, a leading construction consultancy in Cambridge, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

The successful candidate will support Senior Quantity Surveyors in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and high-quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with experience in quantity surveying to develop their skills and progress their career in a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tenders.
  • Support measurement and valuation of works in progress.
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing project cost reports.
  • Participate in procurement processes, including contract document preparation.
  • Help manage subcontractor accounts, including payment applications and variations.
  • Assist with cost control and value engineering exercises.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure project progress aligns with plans.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide financial and contractual advice.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Some experience in quantity surveying is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
