About the Role:

As a Caretaker for an educational establishment, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school premises. This is a unique opportunity to join the Polaris Community, a group passionate about improving the lives of young people.

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining clean, safe, and secure school premises, including buildings and grounds
  • Carrying out cleaning, handy person activities, routine maintenance, and refurbishment tasks
  • Supervising school cleaning staff
  • Promoting health and safety around the school
  • Performing porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment

Requirements:

  • Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
  • Previous caretaking experience within a school environment
  • Good interpersonal skills to protect the school's interests when dealing with contractors and other visitors
  • Able to work in an environment with SEMH children
