About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will play a key role in driving our procurement strategy and ensuring the continuity and efficiency of our production and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, and services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk or impact to our business operations.
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices, and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand future requirements as our business looks to further improve its product offering to meet customers' needs.
  • Help to develop creative and innovative procurement processes and implement KPIs to analyze and improve supplier performance.
  • Maintain records and documentation within the department to allow full traceability, resolve invoice queries, and assist with MRP when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively and negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies, and initiatives and advise of the impact of change on purchasing and production activities.
Requirements
  • CIPS Level 4-6 or similar qualification in Purchasing or at least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive demonstrable experience of Supplier selection/Management and audit.
  • Previous experience with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office - Excel & Word.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision, prioritize workload, and the skills to be a good team player.
Desirable
  • A minimum qualification in an appropriate subject to HND or Degree level.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to understand internal and external technical information.
  • Experience of Customs Import procedures would be beneficial.
