Classroom Support Specialist

We are working with multiple schools across the Derby region to find reliable and enthusiastic Classroom Support Specialists who can cover classes in the absence of a teacher. As a trusted member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a classroom environment and supporting students in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a class of up to 30 students in a secondary school setting
- Bridge the gap until the staff member returns as best possible on a short-term basis
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to ensure a smooth learning experience
About You:
- Aged 21 or above
- Hold a degree or equivalent in any specialist subject
- Good ability to effectively manage large groups of children
- Have some prior experience of working with children and/or vulnerable adults
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training will be provided)
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is £90 - £120 per day, dependent on experience. We offer a competitive rate and opportunities for professional growth and development.

- Be adaptable and able to cope well with a hectic day
- Be available 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday through Friday for 3 or more days a week (term time only)
Vetting Process:
Successful candidates will be required to conduct an interview and complete a vetting process, which includes an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS. If you do not have one, we can assist with the application at a cost of £45.
