Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and patient One-to-One Teaching Assistant to provide focused support for a pupil with special needs.

This is a rewarding temporary role where you will play a key part in a child's educational journey, ensuring they can fully engage in learning while building their social and emotional skills.

About the Role

  • Support a pupil 1:1, focusing on engagement and managing challenging behaviors
  • Assist with literacy, numeracy, and ICT tasks to help the pupil access the curriculum
  • Create tailored activities that align with the pupil's specific needs and current topics
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to adapt strategies for success
  • Promote the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development in the classroom and beyond

What You'll Need

  • Be able to do the job as described
  • Experience in working with children with social/communication needs or learning difficulties
  • Patient, calm, and dedicated to forming a strong rapport with the pupil you support
  • Confident in handling challenging behaviors and fostering a positive learning environment
  • Enthusiastic about working as part of a team to create a nurturing, inclusive environment
