Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Director of Financial Accounting to join our UK Finance Operations team at Oxford University Press. As a key member of our Centre of Excellence, you will assist the Finance Manager in delivering an excellent Financial Accounting service, according to agreed Service Level Agreements, working standards, policies, and procedures. In this role, you will also contribute to a continuous program of improvement, driving innovation and best practices within our Centre of Excellence environment.

Key responsibilities include managing direct reports, reviewing Group Reporting Packs, and ensuring timely completion of month-end tasks. You will work collaboratively with the Group Tax department and external tax advisors to ensure tax accounting compliance, prepare tax returns, and manage the UK audit alongside the Finance Manager. Additionally, you will review statutory accounts prepared by the Financial Accounts team, act in partnership with staff to support business services, and represent UK Finance on key projects and initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of financial reporting standards, tax legislation, and internal controls.

The estimated salary for this position is £56,375 - £59,125, based on your skills and experience. We offer a hybrid working policy, requiring a minimum of 2 days per week in our Oxford office, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development within a dynamic organization.
