Qualified Social Worker

We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Duty and Assessment Team in Halton, UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to make a tangible impact on children and families in the local community. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, conducting timely assessments, and collaborating with multi-agency professionals to deliver effective support.

About the Job
  • Promptly respond to referrals and carry out high-quality assessments in line with statutory requirements, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
  • Undertake child protection investigations and risk assessments to guarantee the security of children's environments.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to develop and implement effective care plans that prioritize the needs of each child.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, providing transparency and accountability in your work.
  • Prepare for and attend court proceedings, presenting robust written and verbal evidence as required.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
    • A degree or diploma in Social Work or equivalent recognized qualification is essential.
    • Registration with Social Work England (SWE) is mandatory.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in a frontline social work role, preferably in a Duty and Assessment setting.
    • A strong background in child protection and risk management is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of relevant UK legislation, policies, and procedures is necessary.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
    • The ability to manage a demanding caseload and make sound professional judgments under pressure is essential.
