At BT Group, we are seeking an exceptional Technical Leadership Manager to drive the success of our digital solutions.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced leader to join our Engineering Leadership team. As a key point of contact for internal customers and Product Owner community, you will be responsible for creating and prioritizing the technical roadmap aligned to business outcomes.

You will manage the planning, coordination, and day-to-day development, testing, and delivery of high-quality, stable end-to-end digital solutions. This will involve working across geographically dispersed squads within a tribe, as well as managing outsourced software development, engineering, and testing resources located in different global locations.

Your expertise in Agile methodology and lean principles will enable you to foster a culture of excellence across the team. You will also be responsible for managing risks and issues raised during the release cycle, ensuring that all stakeholders respond to requests within agreed timeframes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the technical roadmap for digital solutions.
  • Manage the planning, coordination, and day-to-day development, testing, and delivery of high-quality digital solutions.
  • Lead a team of developers, testers, and DevOps Engineers to deliver high-volume front-end web pages.
  • Decide on test technology and techniques, transforming manual practices to automated ones.
  • Monitor and drive fixes for live defects/bugs.
  • Accountable for code security and compliance.
Requirements
  • 5+ years in multi-disciplined software application development, with experience in managing app development teams.
  • Experience in running teams of this scale, composed of insourced and outsourced geographically dispersed resources.
  • Microservice/API development experience and knowledge of Azure B/C & Azure AD Architecture.
  • Hands-on development experience and good database knowledge (SQL, etc.).

We are offering a salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This role is based in London, UK, and requires occasional travel to other BT Group offices worldwide.
