About the RoleThis is a hands-on position that requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to advocate for adults with learning disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for promoting independence, supporting daily activities, and developing life skills and personal interests.
You will work with individuals who have complex needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Challenging Behaviours. Our team uses a digital social care record system to support daily recording, making your day-to-day tasks easier and allowing you to focus on providing high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities- Promote independence and support daily activities, including cleaning, cooking, and personal care
- Develop life skills and personal interests, and support individuals with medication
- Ensure record keeping is maintained to the required standard and contribute to service monitoring requirements
- Passionate, caring, and proactive approach to supporting individuals with learning disabilities
- Emotionally intelligent and able to respond to individuals in a sensitive and empowering way
- Patient, calm, and non-judgmental, with excellent communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team and demonstrate good adaptability and flexibility
