Job Summary:

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Attendance Officer to join our team in Haringey, North London. As an Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing welfare support to families and schools, addressing attendance issues, and enforcing relevant legislation to ensure pupils receive their entitlement to education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide welfare support to families and schools to address attendance issues
  • Liaise with schools, parents, and other agencies to provide support as necessary
  • Complete reports for schools, requiring a high standard of communication both verbally and in written form
  • Carry out home visits, adapting to working in different environments and meeting deadlines
  • Use IT skills, including Word and Excel, to complete tasks efficiently

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of delivering a service that enables pupils to receive their entitlement to education
  • Ability to support families and pupils in addressing attendance matters and enforcing relevant legislation
  • Experience in reducing absence and increasing attendance and achievement
  • Acquired skills to ascertain information relating to safeguarding and a child's welfare, contributing to risk assessment and decision-making
