Job Summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-renowned cancer research centre, partnering with The Institute of Cancer Research to drive innovative treatments and improve patient outcomes. We are seeking a highly skilled Research Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in the Haematology Research Department.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Research Nurse to work across our Sutton and Chelsea branches. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating research studies, assessing patients, collecting and recording data, and ensuring high standards of practice in accordance with GCP guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate arrangements for patients undergoing specialist investigations as part of research protocols
  • Assess patients prior to trial treatment, monitor patients receiving trial treatment, and follow up on completion of trial treatment as required by the protocol
  • Collect and accurately record data in accordance with trial protocol requirements
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • NMC registration
  • Post-registration experience in cancer care
  • BSc/MSc or studying at a relevant level
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Desirable qualifications include a recognized cancer nursing qualification and research methods education. Previous experience as a research nurse or senior staff nurse in oncology nursing, personal and leadership management experience, and experience working in a clinical research environment are also highly valued.
