Job Title: Clinical Lead Nights

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join the Acute Medical Unit and develop skills and experience with a view to becoming a nurse practitioner. The role involves working alongside the Acute Intervention Team to support education and training of deteriorating patients and resuscitation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care.
  • Organize the delivery of nursing care, deploying staff effectively.
  • Communicate changes to patient information and treatment plans to team members.
  • Adhere to MNC standards of record keeping.
  • Assist the Ward Manager in setting, monitoring, and maintaining standards of care.
  • Participate in nursing audit and service improvement activities.
  • Manage risk and maintain patient safety.
  • Supervise the work of nursing support staff.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day management of the directorate.
  • Participate in the education and training of junior staff.
  • Involve patients and carers in the planning and delivery of care.
  • Participate in clinical supervision.
Person Specification:
  • RGN with current NMC registration.
  • Diploma/1st level degree.
  • Excellent standards of nursing care.
  • Previous experience working in the acute setting.
  • Working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of clinical audit.

This is an exciting role that will allow you to work in an acute clinical environment while learning and developing skills that will enable you to progress into a nurse practitioner role. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Acute Intervention Team to support education and training of deteriorating patients and resuscitation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. They will also have experience of clinical audit and be able to work autonomously.
