Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Secondary School in Milton Keynes. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and setting up classrooms for lessons
  • Work with students on a 1:1 or small group basis, providing individualized support and guidance
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular updates to teachers and other support staff
  • Provide emotional support and care to students who are upset or unwell
  • Lead classes with the support of the teacher, promoting student engagement and participation
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with students with SEND is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education is essential
  • Passion for supporting students to achieve their full potential, academically, emotionally, and socially
