We are seeking an experienced clinical leader to join our team as Director of Midwifery and Professional Governance. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the delivery of high-quality midwifery services across our health board.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for setting high clinical standards and ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care to women and children. They will work closely with our executive team to drive service improvement and ensure that our midwifery services meet the needs of our patients and communities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and clinical leadership to our midwifery services
- Develop and implement governance frameworks to support service delivery
- Lead and contribute to the formulation of long-term strategic plans
- Work collaboratively with other health boards across Wales to consider regional and tertiary planning
- Provide specialist advice on matters relating to women's and children's services
- Registered midwife with current Nursing & Midwifery registration
- Significant post-registration experience at a very senior nursing level
- Educated up to Masters level or has equivalent specialist training
- Extensive knowledge of current issues relating to professional midwifery and nursing practice
- Good understanding of research
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
- Significant post-registration experience at a very senior midwifery level
- Significant senior operational management experience across healthcare settings
- Experience of developing governance frameworks to support service delivery
- Experience of leading and implementing service improvement/redesign in healthcare
