Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Housekeeper at Stirling Park in Rochester. As a key member of our support services team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe disposal and packaging of waste in accordance with NHS policy.
  • Clean and prepare ward food trolleys for meal service.
  • Deliver food service trolleys to wards.
  • Assist nursing staff during managed meal times with portioning and plating food from food trolleys at ward level.
  • Prepare and deliver ward stores and supplies to wards and departments.
  • Report details of faults and failures of electrical equipment and building fabric to Team Leader or Ward Manager.
  • Complete records and log sheets accurately within given timelines.
  • Ensure the safe and secure storage of stocks at ward and department level.
Person Specification
  • NVQ level 1 in Support Services or equivalent level of working experience.
  • Good knowledge of customer care.
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and infection control regulations.
  • Knowledge of food service and catering.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in cleaning and/or catering food service.
  • Ability to demonstrate respect and dignity.
