About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 7 Practitioner Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients within our plastic surgery unit.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their clinical skills in a supported environment, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to manage long-term conditions and adjustment to disease and injury.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within interdisciplinary environments, including joint consultations with medical/physical health staff, and will be able to apply psychology in different cultural contexts.

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients across the full range of care settings, including community, primary care, outpatient, and inpatient settings.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct research and contribute to the development of new treatments and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the Trust.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience of working within plastic surgery, burns, or acute/community health settings, providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients.
  • Knowledge of theoretical models and psychological interventions relevant to the needs of patients with disfiguring conditions, body image anxiety, PTSD, and those experiencing psychological difficulties secondary to their health condition.
