Job Title: Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist to join our team at CK Group. As a Specialist Chemotherapy Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering holistic care to patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Job Summary:

This is a field-based role covering the Colchester, Southend-on-Sea, and Chelmsford area. As a Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking clinical assessments of patients' needs, conducting training interactions to ensure patients and/or carers can safely self-medicate relevant oncology medications, and providing ongoing support to patients through a combination of support programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake clinical assessments of patients' needs to ensure safe and effective treatment.
  • Conduct training interactions to educate patients and/or carers on safe self-medication practices.
  • Provide ongoing support to patients through a combination of support programmes, including telephone, clinic-based, and home visits.
  • Assess patients' home environments to ensure they are suitable for home IV oncology treatment.
  • Complete line care for all IV oncology patients, ensuring lines are clean and clear.
  • Administer all IV oncology medications for patients undergoing IV cancer treatment.
  • Check blood results and make decisions on whether critical levels are within safe parameters to continue with treatment.
Requirements:
  • RGN Part 1 NMC Register.
  • Chemotherapy delivery qualification.
  • Experience in administering oncology medication, either in hospital or community environment.
  • Experience of undertaking clinical assessments and administering sub-cutaneous injections.
  • Experience in the care of IV devices and administration of IV therapies.
