Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the Intelligence Development Team (IDT) at HM Revenue and Customs as an Intelligence Analyst Lead. You will be part of a nationwide Law Enforcement arm, pursuing criminals, fraudsters, and smugglers who attack the UK Exchequer.

The role involves office-based activity and operational work, including surveillance. As a leader in this team, you will contribute to business performance through your own work and the development of your team. You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and handle challenges with resilience and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gathering intelligence on complex cyber-attacks, money laundering, smuggling, and emerging frauds
  • Leading the development of quality cases for intervention and criminal prosecution
  • Undertaking and directing operational, tactical, and strategic work
  • Analyzing material and preparing applications to Courts
Requirements
  • Hold a full valid driving licence (manual or automatic)
  • Demonstrate experience in intelligence and/or investigation
  • Meet one of the required qualifications (RIS Operational Intelligence Course, FIS Criminal Investigation Foundation training, or College of Policing Professionalising Investigative Practice Level 2)
Benefits

In addition to your salary of £35,092, HMRC contributes £10,166 towards your pension. You will also have access to flexible working policies, generous leave allowance, and additional benefits such as coaching and development.

Further Details

This post attracts a Level 2 Flexibility Payment, which allows HMRC to change your work pattern at short notice. You will be expected to undertake periods of On Call and work additional hours, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
