Role Summary

As a Process Engineer with ASSYSTEM, you will be working on cutting-edge nuclear fusion projects that drive net-zero power generation. Your expertise in nuclear fusion or relevant industries like civil nuclear, pharmaceuticals, or oil and gas will be instrumental in shaping the future of thermal and fluid systems. Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake work packages for major UK and international nuclear clients.
  • Develop and review process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, layout drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and calculations for fusion and modular nuclear systems.
  • Produce high-quality engineering solutions across a broad range of process engineering topics.
  • Communicate and provide feedback to the lead engineer and project manager.
  • Conduct requirements capture, concept design, and detailed design tasks.
  • Collaborate with other FMN engineering functions and disciplines for integrated solutions.
  • Manage your own time to meet agreed timescales, cost targets, and quality standards.

Requirements
  • Degree qualified in process or chemical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Chartered engineer or working towards chartership with an accredited body.
  • Background in nuclear fusion, nuclear sector, or regulated industries like thermal power generation, oil and gas.
  • Knowledge of process plant design, flow calculations, pipe stress analysis, and FEED for process plants.
  • Experience in designing and substantiating process engineering solutions.
  • Familiarity with UK health and safety regulations, safety systems, and HAZOP.
  • Proficient in engineering software tools.
