Construction Trainer

We are seeking an experienced Vocational Tutor to join our team in Rochdale. This is a permanent opportunity to plan, deliver and assess effective Functional Skills in a challenging environment.
- Salary: Up to £31,400 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting initial and ongoing assessments, using IA outcomes and other available information to personalise learning experiences for individuals. They will also adopt inclusive strategies to ensure support and challenge for all learners, including those with SEND, challenging behaviours or medical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments in line with company policy to inform placement of learners on effective programmes of learning.
- Use IA outcomes and all available information to personalise learning experiences for individuals.
- Adequately manage learner behaviour and classroom climate to create a secure and positive learning environment.
- Assess learners' work in line with company policy, using diagnostic and personalised feedback to drive ongoing progress toward examination.
- Track and monitor progress of individuals and groups of learners to ensure rapid and sustained progress from prior attainment.
- Identify learners in danger of underachievement and liaise with colleagues to ensure prompt, effective intervention.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need resilience, creativity and flexibility. A record of ongoing CPD is essential, as well as high professional standards, ability to manage time and workload effectively, excellent communication skills and IT skills.
Requirements:
- Experience of teaching Functional Skills in challenging environments.
- Experience of planning, teaching and assessment for progress.
- Subject-specific and teaching qualifications appropriate to the role.
- Able to motivate disengaged learners and plan engaging, inclusive lessons.
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with all colleagues and stakeholders.
