Join Our Team as a Consultant in Pediatric Anesthesia

Birmingham Children's Hospital Anaesthetic Department

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Pediatric Anesthesia to join our dynamic team at Birmingham Children's Hospital. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to our young patients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in pediatric anesthesia and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be required to work on other hospital sites where Birmingham Children's Hospital has a service level agreement to provide anesthesia. The post holders may be required to undertake one evening theatre session per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior staff members

Requirements

  • Full GMC registration
  • Completed Specialist Training, including at least 12 months of pediatric anesthesia
  • Entered on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of doing so
