Job Overview

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our community services team. As a Paediatric Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for receiving and processing referrals for community services, working closely with administrators and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective care for our patients.

Main Duties

  • Receive and process referrals for community services, collecting supporting information from referrers, clients, and other agencies.
  • Work with administrators to complete contact assessments and record referrals on clinical platforms.
  • Ensure referrals are processed in a timely manner and are signposted to the appropriate service.
  • Provide excellent communication skills and work effectively as part of a team.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent computer skills, including ECDL or willingness to undertake.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • GCSE English and Maths grade C and above.

Continuous Professional Development

Essential Criteria

  • Willingness to complete all Statutory and Mandatory training, including updates.
  • Willingness to undertake further personal and professional development.

Previous Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of work within a health or social care setting.
  • Ability to share and teach knowledge and skills.
  • Experience of dealing with the public in a sensitive manner and awareness of diversity in the community.

  • Ability to deal with sensitive or difficult issues over the phone.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, with good attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Ability to work independently, but also refer appropriately for advice and assistance.
