Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, working closely with our in-house design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage projects from initial concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to our sales team, including quotation support and technical issue resolution.
  • New Process and Product Development: Develop new processes and products in line with project plans and budgets, ensuring quality, cost, and takt time requirements are met.
  • Process and Cost Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and cost improvement, implement changes, and deliver pre-determined benefits.
  • NPI Projects: Complete new product introduction (NPI) projects in line with our pre-agreed NPI process, customer specifications, and internal functional needs.
  • Tooling and Equipment Development: Determine new and improved tools, fixturing, and supporting equipment to facilitate product delivery.
  • Manufacturing Support: Provide daily support to our operations team on manufacturing issues affecting current production.
  • FMEA and Control Plan Activities: Support all actions required for failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and control plan activities for new and existing projects.
  • Customer and Supplier Relationships: Develop and build relationships with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: HNC level desirable.
  • Background: Background in high volume manufacturing, precision engineered products, or similar.
  • Skills: Competence in Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Project. Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. Project management experience. Capable of working unsupervised and using own initiative. Confident communicator. Lean manufacturing background. 2D CAD experience beneficial.
What We Offer
  • Salary: Up to 45,000 DOE.
  • Benefits: 33 days holiday, 5% pension contribution.
