Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

Location: East Huntspill, Highbridge

Contract: Shift Pattern - ad-hoc cover

Salary: Unqualified - £12.79 per hour, Qualified - £13.11 per hour plus sleep in shifts when required

Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our residential home, you will work with young people with challenging behaviour, providing a high standard of childcare and helping them achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with young people with challenging behaviour
  • Provide a high standard of childcare
  • Support young people in achieving their goals
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the well-being of young people
  • Complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements

Requirements:

  • Full manual driving license
  • Previous experience of working with challenging young people (desirable, not essential)
  • Willingness to work towards the fully funded qualification in level 3 Children and Young People (or already qualified)
  • Ability to work on their own initiative to a high level of accuracy
  • Good inter-personal skills and a positive team player
  • Empathetic nature
  • Good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts
  • Ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people
