Job Title: Frontend Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Frontend Developer to join our team at News UK. As a Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing, responsive, and accessible user interfaces that set the standard for usability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse customer requirements and assist with project budgeting and scheduling
  • Liaise with teams/individuals to develop and refine high-level design concepts
  • Develop website front-end presentation layer using HTML/CSS/JavaScript
  • Maintain and evaluate changes to existing websites
  • Adhere to in-house standards on development practices

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of HTML semantics, accessibility best practices, and cross-browser compatibility
  • Excellent CSS skills, including preprocessors like SCSS/Sass and responsive design principles
  • Comprehensive understanding of core JavaScript concepts such as DOM manipulation, event handling, and ES6+ features
  • Understanding of WCAG and experience in implementing accessibility features
  • UI/UX principles and ability to translate wireframes and designs into responsive and user-friendly interfaces
