Job Summary

The Royal Air Force is seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join their team. This role involves driving and operating a range of vehicles, from passenger carrying vehicles to large goods vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a valid UK DVLA driving licence with no penalty points or driving bans.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive and operate a variety of vehicles throughout the UK, Europe, and on worldwide operational deployment or field exercises.
  • Train and operate specialist vehicles supporting the RAF's airfields in the UK and worldwide.
  • Transport personnel and goods between units using large goods vehicles, coaches, and troop carrying vehicles.
Requirements
  • Aged 17 – 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)
  • Citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth (with 'right to work' immigration status)
  • Commit to minimum 3 years post Phase Two Training
  • Have a provisional UK DVLA driving licence with no penalty points or driving bans
Working Conditions

This role requires working at various locations, including RAF bases and other military installations. The successful candidate will be required to pass a fitness test and meet certain medical standards.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, the RAF offers a range of benefits, including subsidised food, travel, and accommodation, as well as free gym membership and paid pension scheme.
