Working Hours:
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM (on-call duties required one week every four weeks)
Requirements:
Applicants must possess a full driving license and have access to a vehicle (business travel mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile).
Role Responsibilities
As a Residential Support Officer, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive living environment for individuals in supported housing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing new tenants and assigning accommodations according to established protocols.
- Providing guidance and support to service users to help them maintain their tenancy.
- Conducting room inspections and ensuring that vacancy procedures are adhered to.
- Upholding tenancy agreements and licenses.
- Performing risk assessments and collaborating with external agencies as needed.
- Encouraging resident participation by offering information and choices that empower them.
- Conducting health and safety checks and managing building maintenance in coordination with internal teams.
This position often requires independent work, making self-discipline and motivation essential.
Ideal Candidate Profile
While experience in this sector is not mandatory, we are looking for candidates who demonstrate the right skills and attitudes, embodying our values of compassion, collaboration, and forward-thinking. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- A strong commitment to customer service.
- The ability to motivate individuals facing complex challenges, including mental health issues and substance misuse.
- Familiarity with Universal Credit, Housing Benefits, and support services.
- Skills in risk identification and management.
- An understanding of safeguarding practices.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Educational qualifications equivalent to GCSE in Maths and English.
- A full driving license and a vehicle insured for business use.
- A willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by the company.
