Project Management Leadership Opportunity in Nuclear Energy

Framatome is a leading international player in the nuclear energy market, renowned for its innovative solutions and value-added technologies. The company designs, manufactures, and installs components, fuel, and instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power plants, offering a comprehensive range of reactor services.
We are seeking an experienced Project Management professional to join our team as a Head of Project Management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively managing the Project Management organisation to ensure business needs are met in relation to project delivery across our business lines. This includes ensuring that project management capacity and capability are sufficiently developed and matured to deliver value to our customers and mitigate business risks for Framatome Ltd.
Our core operational areas include new build projects, engineering projects, and existing fleet services. As a result, we require a very strong Project Management culture. To support this, we have established a Project Management Office (PMO) organisation that encompasses:
- Line management of senior PMs and PMs.
- Line management of the Project Control team (including cost, schedule, risks, document management).
- Ownership of project-related processes and reporting (for both management and control of projects) and associated tools/systems.
- Governance and assurance supporting the delivery of projects to the Operational Business Lines (BL).
- Implementation of tools and data supporting overall resource planning of the business (between resource needs and business needs).
The Head of PM will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Head of PMO, Heads of BL, QHSE team, resource managers, HR team, and Sales team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage complex projects and/or programs and/or project portfolios from a delivery perspective.
- Manage PM teams and experience of planning resources, workload management.
- Implement project processes, systems, and tools and understanding of finance, budget, and project accounting.
- Knowledge of relevant ISO standards and working knowledge of IMS systems.
- Technical knowledge of some area of the business (engineering, manufacturing, supply of equipment, site management).
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements of managing projects (including CDM regulation).
- Experience and understanding of commercial and contract management (including NEC, FIDIC, ad hoc, etc.).
- Working experience with ERP (SAP preferable).
- Extensive experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear industry preferred).
- Project Management Certification (PMQ, working toward PPQ or equivalent).
- Autonomous and self-motivated individual.
- Passionate about developing and mentoring people.
- Understanding of key attributes of nuclear safety culture.
- Understanding of client-side Project Management.
- Member of an appropriate professional body or working toward (CIOB, APM, PMI etc.).
Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including a pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
