Trainee Quantity Surveyor Position

A prestigious construction company in Exeter is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of quantity surveying, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality projects.

About the Role:

  • Assist the Senior QS in pricing non-standard client extras, updating the Cost of Sales in the Viability Manager, and producing H & S packs for Housing Association plots.
  • Verify database information and update the CRM system.
  • Carry out drawing take-offs, produce labour only rates, and maintain databases in collaboration with the Surveyor.
  • Support the Surveyor/Construction Director in updating build completion dates via the company's system.
  • Paying designated invoices and applications in line with Authorisation Levels and Commercial Procedures.
  • Manage site bookings, liaising with the Site Surveyor and Payroll, checking rates, and recording bookings.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence, as regular site visits are required.
  • A keen interest in starting a career in surveying or recent entry into the industry.
  • Desire to pursue either a HNC/D in construction/surveying or an apprenticeship route.
  • Proficiency in computer software.
